Additional information:

Water decomposes. With SbF5, AsF5 PtF5 and forms s alts ClF 4 + ; with BF3-s alt does not. Energetic fluorinating agent, but corrodes metals weaker than ClF3. Reacts with alkalis to form fluorides and chlorates, silicon dioxide-to form teraftorida silicon, chlorine and oxygen.
